Complete & Partial Dentures
Dentures are a removable dental appliance for replacing missing teeth & surrounding tissue. Dentures are made to enhance the smile and facial tissues as well as give a beautiful cosmetic smile back to patients missing teeth. Complete and partial dentures also improve chewing, speech and digestion.
Complete dentures are used to replace all the top or bottom teeth, while a partial denture is used to replace only a few missing teeth. A partial denture fills in the space of the missing teeth to prevent the surrounding teeth from shifting into the space.
Both appliances are made with artificial acrylic teeth and artificial pink acrylic to replicate healthy soft tissue. Both appliances are removable. A denture is held into place via the surrounding anatomy and muscles of the mouth. A partial denture has a metal framework to attach and rest onto the remaining natural teeth to prevent from dislodgement.
